our village wines

are modern interpretations of cool-climate wines with character and drinkability. In addition to the fleece, the E* is now also gold-plated on the label, as these wines form the centrepiece of our production. Complex, straightforward and with a clear expression of the soil, they reflect us as winegrowers as well as their places of origin. The typical soils of the Leitha Mountains, mica schist and Leitha limestone, give the wines density and a unique mineral flavour. The cool nights, coupled with the numerous hours of sunshine and the proximity to Lake Neusiedl and the wooded slopes of the Leitha Mountains, give the wines a lively freshness. Our vineyards are located in the municipalities of Sankt Margarethen, Rust, Sankt Georgen, Eisenstadt, Grosshöflein and Oslip. Structure and depth are at the forefront of these wines and clearly show what the respective municipality stands for. The local wines are matured in wood and in our various stone barrels; stainless steel is not used here.

*The E - the initial letter of Esterhazy - in combination with the princely hat, still adorns neighbourhood stones, old bricks and the like to this day. It is thus the most original abbreviation of the family name and therefore a central component of our labels.
