are uncompromising. The terroir, i.e. the interplay of grape variety, microclimate, soil and winemaker, is extremely evident in these wines. Consequently, the Fürstenhut* is now also gold-plated on the label alongside the Vlies and E. In these vineyards, we have the experience of two centuries in some cases. That's why today we only plant grape varieties that optimally convey the character of the vineyard. Minerality, ageability and individuality are always the 3 cornerstones of our vineyard wines. They are only produced in excellent vintages and in very small quantities.

*Each princely hat is unique in its dimensions, shape, colours and details. The design used by the winery corresponds exactly to the princely hat worn by Prince Paul II Anton Esterhazy, as he can be regarded today as the founder of modern viticulture in Burgenland. It was under his leadership that the first varietal and vineyard wines were created and he introduced Pinot Noir to northern Burgenland.
